On the morning of April 29, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches organized the 2026 International Sea Rescue Competition. The competition events took place at the beach in front of Bien Dong Park and the High-Performance Swimming Pool.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Vu - Head of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches said that this year's competition has 14 participating teams. Including 6 domestic teams (Management Board, Pullman, Swim Vietnam, Da Nang Oceanman) and 8 foreign teams (Australia, Myanmar, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore).
Athletes are rescue workers in coastal localities, resorts, and hotels. The organizers require athletes to commit to ensuring health and not suffering from cardiovascular disease or blood pressure.

The contest has 15 events. The beach area takes place in 9 sports including: sprint, relay swimming, team wave climbing, rescue board relay, buoy rescue, board rescue, beach flag snatching, marine life rescue relay, basket boat racing.
The swimming pool area has 6 sports including: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), pulling victims while wearing clothes, 10m throwing rope, relay throwing rope, carrying victims 50m, relay pulling victims. The event is an opportunity for rescue workers to exchange and learn professional rescue experience.


According to the Management Board, the unit has currently increased 100% of rescue forces on duty at key beaches.
The summer duty hours are maintained from 4:30 AM to 7:00 PM daily. Two night beaches in the area north of Bien Dong Park and My An beach operate from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with lighting systems and on-duty rescue personnel.
Functional forces proceed to set up buoys in the safe swimming area. More than 100 warning signs for areas with offshore currents, bad weather warnings, and warning signs are installed. The unit broadcasts propaganda and coordinates with coastal projects and hotels to provide information to guide tourists.
Over the past time, the Management Board has regularly invited experts from the Australian Rescue Association to train local forces in professional skills. The unit also focuses on maintaining security and order, and environmental sanitation to serve people swimming in the sea.
