The Brazilian player born in 1994 is completing the final procedures to become a Vietnamese citizen. According to the Law on Vietnamese nationality, Hendrio will be eligible for naturalization in October 2025 and will be licensed by FIFA to compete from December 2025, after completing 5 years of continuous living in Vietnam.
Having joined V.League in 2021 as a member of Binh Dinh club, Hendrio then played impressively in Nam Dinh with 53 matches, scoring 16 goals and having 21 assists. In the 2024 season, he and Xuan Son became an excellent attacking duo, contributing greatly to Nam Dinh being crowned V.League champion.
Currently, Hendrio has signed a 3-year contract with Hanoi club and participated in training to prepare for the new season. On his debut day, the 31-year-old player expressed his affection for football and the people of Vietnam: "I came here to give my all and hope to wear the Vietnam national team jersey".
Notably, according to a source from Hanoi club, Hendrio plans to choose Vietnamese name as Do Hoang Hen. He once happily introduced to fans: "Hello, Here!".
If all procedures go according to plan, Hendrio can play for the Vietnam team from the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup in March 2026.
