On July 27, the Vietnam women's cloud football team defeated Thailand to win the world championship in the 4-a-side event.
Under pressure from the Thai audience, the Vietnamese women's cloud golf team lost the first half of the match.
Immediately after that, the Vietnamese girls quickly regained their spirit, played overwhelmingly against the opponent and won the overwhelming victory of the next 2 rounds with the scores of 15-8 and 15-7.
According to coach Tran Thi Vui, this victory over Thailand is easier to breathe than the match in the World Cup final in March 2025 (15-12, 12-15 and 15-13).
"Today's victory was a bit easier, because Thailand initially only used one main striker, playing defense. They were right when they caught 4 attacks by Nguyen Thi Yen.
But when I suggested adding all the ball to Tran Thi Ngoc Yen's attack, they could guess but could not catch it," coach Tran Thi Vui shared
Despite losing in the first half, coach Tran Thi Vui said that her students still have faith in the victory against Thailand in the final match.
"My players are very confident. When the opponent only used one main striker, we felt half as easy.
I assigned Ngoc Yen, Nguyen Yen and Ngoc Huyen to stand in the way, while Nguyen My had to cover up the kicks behind the fence.
The players blocked so many that I could not count them all," said the 47-year-old coach.
This championship will be a great motivation for the Vietnamese women's cloud football team to aim for the first gold medal in the 4-a-side event at the 33rd SEA Games also taking place in Thailand at the end of 2025.
