After the 1-0 victory of U23 Vietnam over U23 Indonesia in the 2025 U23 Southeast Asian Cup final, the players worked through coach Kim Sang-sik to celebrate.
However, in the third launch, the players dropped their arms, causing Mr. Kim to fall and hit his back on the field. Despite the pain, the Korean coach still stood up and smiled to share the joy with his students.
During the match, coach Kim attracted attention when he continuously gave strong instructions. He ran to the Indonesian technical area to prevent the collision, and in the extra minute, he was given a yellow card for stopping an Indonesian player from throwing the ball away.
U23 Vietnam played bravely, especially after taking the lead in the 37th minute thanks to Cong Phuong. Facing the opponent's fierce playing style, many Vietnamese players were fouled, even Dinh Bac was strangled and scratched. However, the red team still stood firm for more than 100 minutes to preserve the score.
This is the third consecutive time U23 Vietnam has won the tournament, after 2022 and 2023, becoming the most successful team. Coach Kim Sang-sik alone set a record of winning 2 Southeast Asian titles in the same year at 2 levels.
