The Korean coach expressed his anticipation for the upcoming match, and affirmed that the whole team is ready for the important challenge.
Sharing with the press, coach Kim Sang-sik emphasized the significance of U23 Vietnam's participation in the round for the 4 strongest teams in the tournament.
He said: "First, U23 Vietnam has set foot in the semi-finals with top strong teams such as U23 China, U23 Japan, U23 Korea. Therefore, honestly, I look forward to this round.
Previously, we faced strong opponents such as U23 Jordan, U23 UAE. Those were all matches that were not easy at all, we encountered many difficulties. But we showed a resilient fighting spirit to achieve good results.
According to coach Kim Sang-sik, the semi-final match with U23 China will be a real test of the bravery and aspirations of Vietnamese players.
He highly appreciated the opponent but also affirmed the determination of his team: "Tomorrow is the match between U23 Vietnam and China. It will be a challenge, it will not be easy. We need courage to win the title and aim for a victory in tomorrow's match".
Before the question related to Dinh Bac's injury condition, coach Kim Sang-sik declined to disclose details. He replied humorously: "There are many Chinese and Japanese reporters here, so I cannot disclose them. In general, we are ready for this difficult match".
The Korean coach continued to analyze the past journey of U23 Vietnam and highly appreciated the opponent in the semi-finals: "We have always met strong teams, such as U23 Jordan, U23 UAE, but we all did our job well, winning. When we met U23 UAE in extra time, we also scored a goal.
U23 China is also a strong team, making history by reaching the U23 Asian Championship semi-finals for the first time. Therefore, I think things will be difficult. Goalkeeper Li Hao is also excellent, has not conceded any goals. However, the coaching staff and players are ready to prove themselves in tomorrow's match".
The semi-final match between U23 Vietnam and U23 China will take place at 10:30 PM tomorrow (January 20).
