In the second phase of SEA V.League 2025, the Thai women's volleyball team no longer has a position of monopoly when they lost 2-3 to Vietnam, thereby finishing as runners-up for the first time.
The Golden Temple team won the home team in the first 2 sets, but then lost in the last 3 sets despite having the strongest squad.
Speaking after the match, Thailand women's head coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai said: "We all know this is a difficult match when playing at the home stadium of the opponent.
The players played their best. Vietnam is the same, they used the best players to face us. It was a pity we couldn't win."
Although he did not win the championship, the Thai captain is still optimistic and revealed the upcoming goals of the home team.
"After this tournament, we will have to study more carefully to prepare for the upcoming World Championship and SEA Games.
In this match, we also saw many of our players showing good potential. The game went according to our plan, but we still could not win."
In September, both the Vietnamese and Thai women's volleyball teams will participate in the World Championship. This is another opportunity for the two teams to compete and accumulate experience before participating in the 33rd SEA Games at the end of this year.
