Previously, at the 1st VTV Cup of Vietnamese Ethnic Minority Women's Football Tournament in 2026, the Dak Doa women's team won a silver medal. The team left an impression on the audience with their beautiful playing style and resilient fighting spirit.
HAGL receives Dak Doa women's football team
The Dak Doa women's football team was established about 10 years ago, currently has 22 members aged 15-35, mostly Ba Na and Jrai people. During the day, the girls go to school and work; in the evening, they take advantage of 2-3 training sessions per week.
According to the transfer agreement, Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) will receive, manage and train 14 team members; the remaining members are in a probation period.
The Club is responsible for developing a plan to receive, manage, organize training, coaching and competition; arrange a coaching staff, professional personnel and necessary conditions to serve athlete training.
The team is oriented to upgrade from field 7 to field 11, preparing forces to participate in the official tournaments of the Vietnam Football Federation from 2027.
In the process of management, the Club must ensure conditions on safety, care, living, training and competition for athletes.
The Club will also invest, repair, and upgrade some items at Dak Doa Stadium according to the agreement and current regulations, ensuring that it does not affect the general activities of the locality.
Raising the level of Dak Doa women's football
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - General Director of HAGL Group - assessed that the Dak Doa women's football team showed a spirit of enthusiasm, solidarity, discipline and aspiration. Winning the right to enter the final of a national-scale tournament is a noteworthy mark.
We agree on the policy of receiving the Dak Doa women's football team for training and gradually building the team towards professionalism," Mr. Thang said.
According to Mr. Thang, in the early stages, most athletes still live and study in the locality, so the Club will organize appropriate training, creating conditions for them to maintain their studies and be close to their families.
HAGL's goal is to gradually build a force with sufficient foundation to participate in the National Women's Football Championship in 2027.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee - requested HAGL to properly implement its commitments to the women's football team, arrange a reasonable training and competition schedule so as not to affect the training of athletes.
He assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to review management mechanisms, research policies to support and create jobs for athletes after retirement; and connect with international experts to access modern training methods.
Gia Lai Football Federation needs to promote the women's football movement, develop development plans from the grassroots level, especially in communes and ethnic minority areas, thereby creating a source of young athletes for provincial football.
At the handover ceremony, leaders of Gia Lai province awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to athletes with outstanding achievements at the 1st VTV Cup of Vietnamese Ethnic Minority Women's Football Tournament in 2026.
