On June 28, at Golden Field Square (Nghia Lo ward), the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports in coordination with the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Cycling and Motorcycling Federation opened the 2026 National Club Road and Mountain Bike Championship.
Attending the opening ceremony were leaders of the Vietnam Cycling and Motorcycling Federation, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with representatives of departments, agencies, branches and a large number of fans.

This year's tournament gathers more than 150 athletes from 15 delegations, representing strong cycling clubs across the country. Cyclists compete in 10 events, including 4 long-distance events and 6 off-road events, competing in both individual and team categories.
This is an important playground to assess the quality of cycling training and competition movements in localities, and at the same time create opportunities for athletes to improve their professional qualifications, accumulate experience and aim for the goal of participating in the national team.

Through the tournament, Lao Cai also has the opportunity to promote the image of the land, people and tourism potential with beautiful roads, harmonizing with unique natural landscapes to domestic friends.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the athletes entered the first competition events with high determination.


In the women's road event, cyclist Lam Thi Thuy Duong (BIWASE Ho Chi Minh City) won the Gold Medal; Nguyen Thi Kim Ngoc (BIWASE Ho Chi Minh City) won the Silver Medal; Quach Thi Phuong Thanh (BIWASE Ho Chi Minh City) won the Bronze Medal.
In the men's road event, Nguyen Huong (Vo Dac Dong Nai) excellently won the Gold Medal; Tran Trong Phuc (Vo Dac Dong Nai) won the Silver Medal; Nguyen Van Hieu (Kenda Dong Nai) won the Bronze Medal.
