This year, the 2026 National Youth Vovinam Championship attracted more than 500 athletes from 29 units nationwide to compete.

The competition events will start from July 3rd to July 9th. At this year's tournament, the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports and the Vietnam Vovinam Federation continue to include events in 3 age groups including 12-15, 16-18 and 19-21.

80 sets of medals will be organized for this year's tournament. Among them, for boxing performances, the Organizing Committee will compete in 34 events.

In combat, the tournament has 46 events. In combat, athletes of the 12-15 age group compete in 8 men's weight classes, 8 women's weight classes;

Athletes of the 16-18 age group will compete in 12 men's weight classes, 10 women's weight classes;

Athletes in the group of 19-21 years old are allowed to compete in 4 men's and 4 women's weight classes.

In the tournament, the Organizing Committee stipulates to carefully check the registration documents of each athlete to avoid controversy. One of the regulations in the Professional Regulations specifically states: "An athlete who is receiving benefits from which unit is allowed to register to compete for that unit, not allowed to compete for 2 different units in the same year 2026.

Units participating in the tournament must ensure procedures for athlete status of their unit and submit them to the Organizing Committee of the tournament when requested.

If there is a dispute about 1 athlete, the settlement will be based on the current regulations on management and use of athletes and the contract, contract termination of the managing unit with that athlete (for high-achievement athletes under the management of the sports management agency of provinces, cities, and sectors) or a transfer paper for activities, training, and competition (for amateur athletes under the professional management of the Federation/Association of provinces, cities, and sectors) or must have a written agreement signed and sealed by the highest leaders of the 2 related units.

In case athletes compete for new units, do not sign contracts and do not enjoy any regimes of the old unit, there must be a written confirmation that they do not enjoy regimes and are not bound by them signed and stamped by the highest leader of the old unit.

All documents related to unit transfer must take place 6 months before the official registration deadline”.

Last year, the Ho Chi Minh City youth vovinam team won the first place overall. This year, the Ho Chi Minh City youth vovinam martial artist continues to set a goal to maintain this achievement.
