The last time the World Championship was held was in 2023 in Vietnam. At that time, the vovinam Vietnam team won the No. 1 position with a record of 18 gold medals and 8 silver medals. In the 2023 World Championship, athletes competed in 18 equal weight categories (men's and women's) and 26 boxing events.
This year, vovinam is not included in the 33rd SEA Games program in Thailand. However, the players are trained to prepare carefully professionally to achieve high results at the 2025 World Championship. At the beginning of the year's training period, the vovinam team practiced in Tam Dao (Phu Tho) and Hanoi. At present, the players are training in Can Tho.
