Vovinam is proposed to be added to the SEA Games 34 competition program

Vietnamese sports has developed a plan to propose vovinam to be added to the SEA Games 34 competition program held in 2027.

According to the regulations of the SEA Games 34 Organizing Committee, countries have the right to propose adding more sports (outside the host's expected program) to the official program. Vovinam is one of the sports proposed by Vietnamese sports to be added to take place.

On May 8, the SEA Games 34 Organizing Committee will finalize receiving proposals from the Olympic Committees of countries in the region on the competition program of the Games.

Currently, the organizing committee of the host Malaysia of SEA Games 34 is proposing 38 sports to be included in competition, including athletics, water sports; archery, badminton, basketball, cycling, horse racing, fencing, football, golf, gymnastics, hockey, judo, rugby, sailing, shooting, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, ice skating;

billiards & snooker, bowling, boxing, karate, sepak takraw, squash, wushu, cricket, floor ball, netball, muay, iron balls, pencak silat, esports; grass bowls, water skiing.

SEA Games 34 will be held in 4 locations. Host Malaysia said that Pulau Pinang city will host 6 sports, Kuala Lumpur city will host 14 sports, Johor city will host 1 sport and Sarawak city will compete in 17 sports.

After receiving proposals from countries, the SEA Games 34 Organizing Committee will work specifically before making a final decision with the Southeast Asian Sports Federation and summarizing the number of competition events.
