At the press conference before the 2024-2025 Golden Star Beer play-off between Da Nang and Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc, veteran goalkeeper Bui Tan Truong and head coach Huynh Quoc Anh of Binh Phuoc shared their emotions and determination before the match that is key for the whole season.
Tan Truong said he was no stranger to the pressure and importance of survival matches like this. The goalkeeper who has fought for many years in the V.League said: "I have played many big matches, this is not the first time I have played in the First Division or the first time I have played the play-off. The first time I helped Dong Thap win 1-0 at Thong Nhat Stadium in 2008. Therefore, I have experience and will try my best to bring a First Division team to qualify for the V.League promotion for the second time".
Unable to hide his determination, the goalkeeper born in 1986 said that the entire Binh Phuoc team had prepared throughout the season, not just a few days.
"Preparing for this match is not just a few days but a whole year. The coaching staff, leaders, staff, and supporters all worked tirelessly to bring Binh Phuoc to V.League. Now is the time to take the field and do your best. I will play with all my passion. As for my health, I still play. The immediate goal is to give your all to the team. The future will be decided later."
Tan Truong also expressed his opinion on the suspension of a large bonus by Binh Phuoc. He said: "Regarding hanging up bonuses, it is a way to motivate the players and the coaching staff. All teams are under pressure, from players, coaches to leaders. But for me, hanging up the prize is not a negative pressure but a motivation for my brothers to make efforts and fight their best to win."
On the coaching staff's side, coach Huynh Quoc Anh - who has been involved in Da Nang football for many years - said that he set a goal of completing the team's tasks instead of worrying about his affection for Da Nang.
"At this time, Binh Phuoc and Da Nang will meet. For Da Nang, affection is obvious, my family and friends are all currently living here. However, as the coach of Binh Phuoc, I understand my job well, focusing completely to complete the goal of bringing the team up to the top", coach Huynh Quoc Anh shared.
He emphasized that the play-off match is a single battle and every factor can make a difference. He said: "Da Nang is a team with a history and achievements. This is a match, not a long-term tournament. Each team has its own playing style and philosophy. We focus on ourselves more, instead of paying too much attention to our opponents".
The 2024-2025 Golden Star Beer play-off match between Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc and Da Nang will take place at 6:00 p.m. on June 27 at Thong Nhat Stadium (HCMC).
