On the morning of June 23, Da Nang club sent an official dispatch to Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) to propose playing the play-off match for a V.League spot against Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc at Quy Nhon Stadium (Binh Dinh province), instead of Thong Nhat Stadium (HCMC) as announced by VPF.
Immediately afterwards, VPF immediately responded. According to the document sent by VPF to Da Nang, the final decision is still to organize the play-off match at Thong Nhat Stadium.
"Currently, all preparations related to the organization and implementation contracts for sponsorship, television, communication as well as the application of VAR, ... for the match as planned have been deployed and completed.
Therefore, changing the venue for the 2024-2025 play-off match to Quy Nhon Stadium at the request of Da Nang club, in the current urgent time conditions, is not possible.
The Organizing Committee of the tournament recommends that Da Nang club focus on fully implementing preparation and participation work, ensuring that the 2024-2025 play-off on June 27 at Thong Nhat Stadium takes place as planned," according to VPF's official dispatch.
The match between Da Nang and Binh Phuoc will take place at 6:00 p.m. on June 27. The winning team will participate in V.League 2025-2026, while the losing team will accept to play in the First Division.
The play-off match only takes place once, if there is a draw, the winner will be decided by a penalty shootout. The match was supported by VAR technology and 2 foreign referees, but there were no foreign players participating in the competition because the First Division did not use foreign players.
