The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) is rushing to find a replacement for coach Tsutomu Ogura - who left the national team in June. Of the about 60 submitted submitted documents, the shortlist of candidates includes about 15 names, including notable names such as Fabio Cannavaro, Harry Kewell and Mano Polking.
Fabio Cannavaro - former captain of the Italian team that won the 2006 World Cup is one of the outstanding faces. In addition, Harry Kewell - who won the Champions League with Liverpool in 2005 and most recently head coach Yokohama F. Marinos, is also on the list. However, interest is directed towards coach Mano Polking - the Brazilian coach currently leading the Hanoi Police club.
Under the leadership of Polking, Hanoi Police won the 2025 Vietnam National Cup championship. He is highly appreciated for his long experience in Southeast Asia and effective management style.
However, the possibility of Polking leaving Hanoi Police is not high as he and the team have planned to compete in 4 fronts next season. FAS plans to continue to conduct interviews to find the most suitable name, in which in addition to bonuses, factors such as the accompanying assistant team will also be carefully considered.
