Nguyen Huy Hoang and the Vietnamese swimming team officially concluded the competition of the 2026 Asian Beach Games in China after the competition program on April 27.
On the last day of swimming, we participated in the 4x1 relay race. 500m open water swimming with 4 athletes Nguyen Huy Hoang, Vo Thi My Tien, Mai Tran Tuan Anh, Nguyen Kha Nhi. The athletes achieved a time of 1 hour 06 minutes 32. 4 seconds to win a silver medal.
The gold medal belonged to the host team China with a time of 1 hour 05 minutes 26.8 seconds, while the South Korean team received a bronze medal (1 hour 08 minutes 15 seconds).
Thus, Nguyen Huy Hoang and his teammates won a total of 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals at the 2026 Asian Beach Games.
Athletes with silver medals in the men's 5km event (Nguyen Huy Hoang), 4x1.500m relay; bronze medals in the women's 5km event (Vo Thi My Tien), men's 5km event (Mai Tran Tuan Anh).
Last year, the 4x. 1500m open water relay team of Vietnam (including the 4 athletes mentioned above) won a gold medal at SEA Games 33. That gold medal was the last gold medal of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at SEA Games 33.
According to the plan, the Vietnamese swimming team will return home on April 28. After that, the athletes will continue to practice to prepare for some international missions after the 2026 Asian Beach Games.
