The 2024 National Swimming and Diving Championship is expected to promote the swimming and diving movement nationwide to continue to develop strongly, attracting many different subjects and ages to participate in training and competition, controlling and minimizing the situation of drowning accidents.
At the same time, help select talented and excellent athletes to supplement the national team to compete in international tournaments in the coming time.
According to Mr. Pham Hong Linh - Chairman of the Vietnam Aquatic Sports Association, from these tournaments, the Vietnamese Sports industry has selected many outstanding faces to compete successfully in national, regional and international sports arenas. Typically, at the 2024 Paris Olympics, swimming has 2 participating athletes, Nguyen Huy Hoang and Vo Thi My Tien.
Mr. Linh also said: "With hospitality and thoughtful, safe organization, Da Nang City often successfully hosts many major sporting events, leaving a good impression on domestic and foreign friends.
Including national and international swimming and diving competitions such as the 13th Southeast Asian Student Sports Festival and the 2024 National Youth Swimming and Diving Championship.
The 2024 National Youth Swimming and Diving Championship attracted 283 athletes from 23 swimming and diving units nationwide.
In the swimming competition, athletes will compete in 6 events: Freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly, medley, and relay.
Regarding diving, athletes will compete in 6 events: Speed diving, equipment diving, tandem diving, relay diving, and fin diving.
