The FIFA Referee Supervision Course 2025 takes place from November 27 to November 30, part of the VFF's plan to train, update and improve the expertise of the referee supervision team, while training new candidates to supplement resources for refereeing and national football tournaments.
Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - VFF General Secretary, Head of the course Organizing Committee; Mr. Nguyen Minh Chau - VFF Deputy General Secretary, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee; Mr. Dang Thanh Ha - Head of the VFF Referee Board, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, and members of the Referee Board. FIFA assigned Mr. Mohamad Rodzali Bin Yacob - an officer of the FIFA Referee Development Office in Asia, and Mr. Farkhad Abdullaev - a FIFA referee lecturer, to directly teach and accompany the entire program.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Mohamad Rodzali Bin Yacob highly appreciated VFF's cooperation in referee development, and emphasized the important role of referee supervision in ensuring professional quality and consulting with referees according to FIFA and AFC standards. He also hopes that the players will actively discuss and ask questions to improve their analytical and match evaluation skills, contributing to standardizing referee supervision in Vietnam.
On behalf of VFF, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu emphasized that the professional quality of national tournaments has improved significantly, including the important contribution of refereeing. According to him, the team of supervisors and referee lecturers plays a key role in training, orienting and controlling the quality of management, contributing to maintaining the fairness and transparency of the tournament. He also affirmed that regularly updating knowledge and improving expertise for lecturers and supervising referees is a top priority, and at the same time suggested that students attend the course with a proactive and open-minded spirit to make the most of the learning opportunities from FIFA lecturers.

The course has 34 referees participating, of which 5 are currently lecturers, including Mr. Duong Van Hien, Mr. Ngo Quoc Hung, Mr. Pham Manh Long, Mr. Nguyen Hien Triet and Mr. Nguyen Nhu Phong. In addition, 3 national referees who have reached the retirement age, including Mr. Truong Duc Chien, Mr. Hoang Thanh Binh and Mr. Do Thanh De, also attended the course to train to become supervisory referees.
The program focuses on updating the latest professional contents, including changes in the 2025-2026 Competition Law, along with many in-depth topics presented and discussed by FIFA lecturers to improve the ability to analyze, evaluate and standardize monitoring methods according to international standards.
