On the afternoon of March 28, in Hanoi, a press conference was held to announce the 2025 Vietnam - ASEAN Open Friendship Golf Tournament.
The tournament is part of a series of events to celebrate Vietnam's 30th anniversary of ASEAN membership (1995 - 2025), sponsored by the Department of International Cooperation - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee.
Speaking at the ceremony, journalist Luu Quang Dinh - General Secretary of the Vietnam Science and Technology Information Association, Head of the Organizing Committee - said: "This golf tournament is one of the typical events to celebrate the meaningful 30th anniversary. Although not the largest tournament, thanks to the professionalism of the organizers, we believe that it will bring special values, thereby creating a strongly connected environment, helping entrepreneurs, investors, and partners in the region have the opportunity to exchange, learn, and expand cooperation.
This is certainly a practical and effective way of connection, not only helping to enhance the spirit of sportsmanship but also promoting economic and cultural cooperation between ASEAN countries and partners and foreign affairs".
The 2025 ASEAN Open Vietnam Friendship Golf Tournament will officially take place from April 19 to 20, 2025, at Tam Dao Golf Course, Vinh Phuc Province.
The tournament has the participation of 144 golfers who are male and female businessmen from many countries along with many delegates and guests.
The total prize value is up to tens of billions of VND, including HIO (ole in One) prizes, First, Second, Third prizes in the group and many other valuable prizes for outstanding golfers.
According to information from the organizing committee, the event series also has many activities such as Photo Tour - filming, taking photos to promote golf with local businessmen/women and beauty pageants; Golf competition - a sports event for exchange and friendship between golfers; Miss Friendship Golf Vietnam - ASEAN Open 2025 - voting for female golfers representing the event; Gala awards and cultural and artistic performances - a space for exchange and connection between golfers, businessmen, diplomats and guests; a workshop on promotion, promotion of culture, tourism and business connection.
In particular, within the framework of the performing arts performances in the event series, the Organizing Committee focuses on bringing Vietnamese folk colors to introduce to international friends, with the participation of Meritorious Artist Chu Long or artist Van Anh from the Vietnam Cheo Theater.
