Lai Ly Huynh failed in the rapid chess event in the 2025 Asian Intellectual Sports Championship, so he focused all hopes on competing for the highest position in chess.

The Vietnamese chess player should have been in the leading group, however, Lai Ly Huynh lost to Man Phon Due in game 8 (final) so she ran out of chances to compete for a medal.
In game 9, Lai Li Huynh beat his teammate Nguyen Minh Nhat Quang but only maintained his 4th place overall.
Ranked first in the rapid chess event was player Manh Phon Due (China) with 15 points. Vuong Nhat Bac and Doan Thang ranked second and third respectively with the same 14 points.
Lai Li Huynh just won the standard flag gold medal at the 2025 World Chess Championship held in China in September.
The 2025 Asian Intellectual Sports Festival will take place in Singapore until November 15 local time.
