The ASEAN Esports Cup 2026 competition takes place in the fastest and most rigorous format through rapid chess competition on computers. Each side has 10 minutes of competition (excluding time) and the maximum for 1 match will not exceed 20 minutes.
Le Quang Liem played in the group stage against chess players Amilal Munkhdalai, Sai Han Thiha, Louwakul Phuwin, Sengphachan Bounthengnoy, de Araujo Helder to finish first, and also got a spot in the quarterfinals.
In the quarterfinals, Le Quang Liem defeated Megaranto Susanto (Indonesia) with a score of 1.5-0.5 and advanced to the semi-finals.
In the semi-finals, Le Quang Liem lost 0-2 to Magnus Carlsen. Losing the semi-finals, Le Quang Liem received the same third place result.
This year, super grandmaster Magnus Carlsen won the championship cup after defeating player Esipenko Andrey 2-1 in the final.
Recently, Le Quang Liem has had positive changes by participating in e-sports chess tournaments (computing on computers).
