The Vietnamese-American player entered the match against Borges - an experienced opponent with a persistent playing style in the context that both players showed stable form from the beginning of the tournament. The opening set dien bien showed a clear balance when the two players maintained a good serving game, forcing the set to be decided by a long tie-break. At the decisive moment, Tien showed his bravery when saving many set points and closing the tie-break with a 11-9 victory, creating an important psychological advantage.

In set 2, the player born in 2005 proactively pushed up the pace of competition, improved the efficiency of first serve and controlled well the finishing attacks. Successfully taking advantage of Borges' mistakes helped Tien win a key break, thereby winning the set with a score of 6-4.

The third set witnessed a clear advantage leaning towards Learner Tien. Good physical fitness and confidence helped him maintain continuous pressure, quickly break the opponent's serve game and quickly close the set with a score of 6-2.

In the end, Learner Tien won after three sets with scores of 7-6 (11-9), 6-4, 6-2, thereby appearing in the 4th round of the Australian Open for the 2nd consecutive time.
