The coaching staff of the Vietnamese athletics team sent a force of 5 athletes from the women's 100m and 200m events to compete at the 2026 Singapore Open.
5 players registered to compete include Le Thi Cam Tu, Hoang Du Y and Kha Thanh Truc, Ha Thi Thu, Phung Thi Hue. It is expected that the members will depart for Singapore on April 13.
All of the above athletes participated in SEA Games 33 in Thailand and won medals. In which, Le Thi Cam Tu won a silver medal in the 200m distance, Ha Thi Thu had a bronze medal in the 100m distance and the Vietnamese women's 4x100m relay team won a silver medal.
The Singapore Open is the 2nd official international competition program this year for the Vietnamese athletics team. Earlier this year, we participated in the 2026 Asian Indoor Championship but did not win a medal.
Last year, the Vietnamese athletics team participated in the 2025 Singapore Open but did not win a medal. This year, the goal set for the 5 athletes is to strive to compete and achieve the best results. According to forecasts, many leading short-distance athletes of Southeast Asia will participate in the competition in Singapore in the near future.
Before arriving in Singapore, the 5 players had been trained in China. They returned home on April 5 to prepare to compete in Singapore.
The tournament will officially take place in Singapore from April 15 to April 17.
