On January 18 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Boxing Federation held the 2nd term congress (2026-2031). Previously, work on the general organization of the association and expected personnel had been specifically built.
In the first term (2020-2025), the Vietnam Wrestling Federation carried out many professional activities. In which, the field of developing amateur wrestling was expanded. Regarding international achievements, Vietnamese wrestling held the top position in Southeast Asia, through SEA Games 31, 32 and 33.
However, Vietnamese wrestling has not yet won official slots to participate in the 2020 and 2024 Olympics. The search for socialized resources to accompany the Vietnamese Wrestling Federation is still limited.
At the congress, with high consensus from the delegates, the Vietnam Boxing Federation elected a new Executive Committee of 29 members for the second term. In which, the Chairman of the first term - Mr. Ly Duy Thanh continued to be trusted to be re-elected Chairman of the second term.
Mr. Ta Tung Duc (Boxing Department, Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports) was elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman cum Secretary General of term 2.
The Vietnam National Boxing Federation term 2 sets out many goals to be implemented. In which, the development of a team of referees, coaches, and highly qualified athletes continues to be implemented.
Developing the wrestling movement in many units across the country is also an essential task set out. Along with that, Vietnamese wrestling continues to have the goal of maintaining a leading position in Southeast Asia and finding opportunities to win medals at ASIAD.
The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Boxing Federation term 2 will focus on finding more socialized resources to help develop the best goals set.
Attending the congress, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports - Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh gave opinions, in which he hoped that the Vietnam Federation would do well in professional work and develop its commensurate achievements.
