The Spanish legend's academy said it will open a Rafa Nadal Tennis Center on Indonesia's Lombok Island in 2028, marking the academy's first facility in the region.
This tennis center will be located at the luxurious Samara Lombok resort (also expected to open in 2028). According to a statement on the academy's website, the facility will include 4 tennis courts and 4 padel courts.
This place will provide sports programs for players of all ages and levels, applying training methods developed by Nadal and his technical team.
Ms. Maribel Nadal, Nadal's sister and Deputy Managing Director of the Rafa Nadal Academy, shared: "We are very excited about the launch of the first Rafa Nadal Tennis Center in Southeast Asia.
Lombok is a destination with great international potential and we believe that this project will help bring our training methods and passion for sports to generations of players and families around the world”.
Rafa Nadal Academy - opened its first facility in Nadal's hometown of Manacor (Spain) in 2016 - currently operates 4 central models in many countries including Mexico, Kuwait and Hong Kong (China).
The comprehensive academy model allows young tennis players to combine top-level training with international education programs, while sports and tennis centers own leading facilities to serve training and health care.
The Rafa Nadal Tennis Programme also cooperates with international schools to teach this subject to students.
Famous alumni of the academy include Casper Ruud (Norway) - who has twice reached the final of the French Open - and rising star Alexandra Eala (Philippines).
The first complex in Mallorca has 45 tennis courts (23 hard courts and 22 clay courts), 19 padel courts, a gym and other sports facilities such as swimming pools and beach volley courts.
