The matches of the group 3 of the David Cup 2026 men's team tennis tournament (Asia-Oceania region) are held in Malaysia.
On July 18, Vu Ha Minh Duc contributed to the 2-0 victory for the Vietnamese men's tennis team against Uzbekistan.
The 8 teams participating in group 3 of the 2026 Davis Cup tournament (Asia-Oceania region) were drawn into 2 groups, respectively, including Group A: Jordan, Singapore, Philippines, Uzbekistan and Group B: Malaysia, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Iran.
In the group stage matches in Group B, we lost with the same score of 1-2 to Saudi Arabia and Iran.
However, against the host team Malaysia, the Vietnamese men's tennis team won 3-0.
The victory helped the Vietnamese men's team rank 3rd after the group stage to meet Uzbekistan in the play-off match for relegation tickets of Group 3 Davis Cup 2026 (Asia-Oceania region).
In the match against Uzbekistan, Pham La Hoang Anh played his first singles match to defeat opponent Damir Abdusamadov with a score of 2-1.
Vu Ha Minh Duc competed in the 2nd singles match to meet player Amir Milushev. Playing confidently in the match, Minh Duc won against his opponent 2-0 with set scores of 6-2, 7-6 respectively.
The overall victory against the Uzbekistan men's team helped the Vietnamese men's tennis team stay in the group 3 of the tournament.
The results have achieved the tasks set out by the Vietnam Tennis Federation.
The Vietnamese men's tennis team registered to compete in the tournament includes: Vu Ha Minh Duc, Nguyen Minh Phat, Pham La Hoang Anh, Nguyen Dai Khanh, Truong Thanh Minh.
