On the morning of May 13, at the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Justice, goalkeeper Le Giang Patrik and midfielder Ngo Dang Khoa received the decision to naturalize Vietnamese. This is considered a positive sign for Vietnamese football in the context that coach Kim Sang-sik is looking for more quality factors for the national team.
In which, Le Giang Patrik completed the naturalization process after more than 3 years playing in the V.League. The goalkeeper born in 1992 was previously signed a decision by the President to naturalize Vietnamese according to Decision No. 91/QD-CTN dated January 28, 2026. After completing the necessary procedures, the Slovakian-Vietnamese player officially qualified to register to play for the Vietnamese national team.
Previously, Le Giang Patrik was named in the preliminary list of the Vietnamese national team in the FIFA Days in March. However, due to some paperwork, the call-up has not been completed.
In this season, Le Giang Patrik continues to show stable form in the Ho Chi Minh City Police shirt. His playing experience and good reflexes help him be considered one of the notable goalkeepers in the V.League.
Meanwhile, Ngo Dang Khoa also officially became a Vietnamese citizen after a period of time being supported by the club to complete legal procedures. The midfielder born in 2006 has Vietnamese and Australian blood, played for Perth Glory club in the A.League before joining Ho Chi Minh City Police on loan in early 2026.
Ngo Dang Khoa plays his forte in the left winger position, possessing speed and the ability to create breakthroughs in attacking situations. After 10 appearances in all competitions for Ho Chi Minh City Police, the 20-year-old player has scored 4 goals.
Ngo Dang Khoa himself has repeatedly expressed his desire to wear the jersey of Vietnamese national teams. The completion of naturalization helps this young player have more opportunities to compete for a spot in the national team in the near future, especially at the youth team and national team levels.
