Swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang is registered to compete at the 2026 Asian Open Surface Swimming Championships to be held in Indonesia.

Nguyen Huy Hoang is 1 of 5 athletes of the Vietnamese swimming team who will go to Indonesia to compete in the 2026 Asian Open Water Swimming Championships.

In addition to this swimmer, the Team also registered faces Vo Thi My Tien, Mai Tran Tuan Anh, Nguyen Kha Nhi and Nguyen Viet Tuong.

The 2026 Asian Open Water Swimming Championships will take place from June 13 to June 15 with the participation of leading long-distance swimmers in the continent.

In April this year, Nguyen Huy Hoang and the Vietnamese swimming team had the opportunity to compete against continental opponents in open water swimming at the 2026 Asian Beach Games.

At that time, the Vietnamese swimming team won 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals.

Nguyen Huy Hoang personally won 1 silver medal in the 5km distance and 1 silver medal in the 4x1.500m mixed men's and women's relay in the above Games.

According to the competition program, the 2026 Asian Open Water Swimming Championships will organize the 5km, 10km men's, women's and 4x1 relay events. 500m mixed men's and women's.

The coaching staff of the Vietnamese swimming team said that the 5 swimmers are actively preparing professionally to be ready to compete in Indonesia and the goal is to strive to win medals in the tournament.
