This is the third year the tournament has been held, becoming a prestigious professional sporting event, contributing to boosting the economy and promoting the image of the capital. This year's tournament is sponsored by Herbalife.
This year’s tournament has an important change when the 10km and half marathon distances start at Hoan Kiem Lake, while the 5km distances and family sports group start from Thien Quang Lake. All distances have a finish line at the gate of Thong Nhat Park.

Nguyen Thi Oanh shined strongly when winning the professional women's half marathon, setting a new record with a time of 1 hour 13 minutes 22 seconds, breaking her own old record (1 hour 15 minutes 10 seconds, set on December 1, 2024).
This is the third consecutive time Oanh has won the tournament, continuing to affirm her superior position in Vietnamese athletics. She surpassed her opponent Le Thi Tuyet by more than 2 minutes (1 hour 15 minutes 27 seconds).
Meanwhile, in the 21km men's professional race, an unexpected incident occurred when Hoang Nguyen Thanh crossed the finish line first but did not complete the route correctly, leading to his result not being recognized. Nguyen Trung Cuong, the runner-up, was determined to be the champion of this distance.
The 2025 Vietnam International Half Marathon not only marks a professional milestone with impressive records and achievements, but also symbolizes perseverance, determination and overcoming personal limits. Additional events such as the sports family and team competitions also attract strong participation, demonstrating sportsmanship and community cohesion.
President of the Vietnam Athletics Federation - Mr. Hoang Ve Dung affirmed that this year's tournament continues to maintain its prestige and is the first major sporting event of the year in Hanoi, looking forward to a new year full of aspirations for sustainable development.
