This year's tournament took place from September 9 to 14 at Nguyen Du Club Gymnasium, Ho Chi Minh City, attracting nearly 300 athletes from 22 countries and territories around the world to participate.
Belonging to the BWF Tour Super 100 level, the Vietnam Open 2025 tournament has a total prize value of 110,000 USD. Athletes will compete in men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. In which, the champion athletes will receive 8,250 USD.
Sharing at the press conference on September 4, Mr. Nguyen Nam Nhan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized that Vietnam Open is a high-quality, traditional international badminton tournament, attracting many high-ranked players to participate.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Phuong Nam, Vice President of the Vietnam Badminton Federation, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Badminton Federation, said that this year, the organizing committee will make changes to meet the standards of the World Badminton Federation (BWF), in order to improve the quality of the tournament, while keeping Vietnam still organizing a high-quality international tournament, in the BWF Tour system.
Most of the strong tennis players in Vietnam attended. In the women's singles event, Nguyen Thuy Linh (ranked 18th in the world) was the number 1 seed in the tournament. She has won the Vietnam Open for 3 consecutive years and is aiming for her 4th title in this tournament.
Thuy Linh's main opponents will be Lalinrat Chaiwan (Thailand, 43rd in the world), Tanvi Sharma (India, 45th in the world) or Aakarshi Kashyap (India, 46th in the world) ...
In the men's singles event, the tournament also attracted many players in the world's top 100 to participate such as Takuma Obayashi (Japan, world ranking 45), Chico Wardoyo (Indonesia, world ranking 46), Sathist Kumar (India, world ranking 49)... Vietnam's hopes will be placed on Nguyen Hai Dang (ranked 62nd in the world) and Le Duc Phat (ranked 83rd in the world)...
