The Vietnamese tennis player lost the opening match with a score of 23-25. In the second game, Thuy Linh continued to lose with a result of 13-21.
The match ended after 44 minutes of competition and Thuy Linh accepted the racket with a score of 0-2. The 2025 Australian Open Badminton Tournament is Nguyen Thuy Linh's last international competition before she attends the 33rd SEA Games.
The tennis player will return to Vietnam and then practice in Bac Ninh to prepare professionally for the 33rd SEA Games.
As planned, the coaching staff of the Vietnam Badminton Team will register Nguyen Thuy Linh to participate in the women's singles event at the 33rd SEA Games. At the 32nd SEA Games in 2023 in Cambodia, Nguyen Thuy Linh did not win a badminton medal. Currently, she is ranked 21st in women's singles at the BWF World Badminton Rankings.
Before competing in Australia, Nguyen Thuy Linh had achieved high performance to win the women's singles championship of the 2025 Masters Badminton Tournament in Korea. However, the tournament has the BWF World Tour Super 300 level for world badminton while the tournament in Australia is the BWF World Tour Super 500 level.
