With a 2-set victory over Kim Min-ji of Korea, tennis player Nguyen Thuy Linh has qualified for the final of the 2025 Vietnam Open badminton tournament.

Kim Min-ji, ranked 123rd in the world, is far behind Thuy Linh (18th in the world). However, the Korean tennis player caused many difficulties for Thuy Linh.

In set 1, the two players created a tense, competitive game for each point, with a tight gap. Kim Min-ji once led Thuy Linh with a score of 18-14 and had many opportunities to win. But Thuy Linh showed her mettle at the right time, leveling the score at 18-18, before taking the lead to win 21-19.

In set 2, Thuy Linh played more aggressively, continuously leading the Korean athlete, sometimes up to 11-5. Kim Min-ji played very hard, sometimes shortening the gap to 2 points. But in the final stage of the set, Thuy Linh played with concentration, thereby winning 21-16.

In the end, Thuy Linh won 2-0 (21-19, 21-16), to qualify for the final of the Vietnam Open 2025.

In the final, Nguyen Thuy Linh will meet Cai Yan Yan (China) or Ashmita Chaliha (India). As the number 1 seed of the tournament, Thuy Linh has the opportunity to defend her title. If successful, she will be crowned for the fourth consecutive time at the Vietnam Open 2025.
