According to information obtained by Lao Dong, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation has received a document from the management unit of Dong Anh Stadium (Hanoi) requesting to host the 2026 National Championship.
In addition to this location, locations in Ho Chi Minh City and Vinh Long also want to host the tournament. The 2026 National Championship is expected to be held in 2 phases as at present.
The Vietnam Volleyball Federation will meet next week to decide which location will be officially given the right to organize the tournament. After specific consideration, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation will give the right to organize each stage for each location.
At this time, Hanoi Capital Volleyball has participating teams in the 2026 National Championship: Hanoi men's, Duc Giang Chemicals women's, Hanoi women's. Ho Chi Minh City's teams have a place to compete in the National Championship, namely Ho Chi Minh City Police Men's and Ho Chi Minh City Men's. Vinh Long locality has no team participating in the 2026 National Championship.
At the 2025 National Championship, Dong Anh Stadium (Hanoi) held the first stage. At this stage, the teams will play 7 matches. Phase 2 of the tournament is held in Ninh Binh and the teams will compete in the remaining 2 matches of the group stage along with the matches for relegation tickets and the final.
Before the 2026 National Championship took place, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation asked for written opinions on 16 teams to develop the most suitable tournament organization plan. Currently, the regulations for the 2026 National Championship have not been issued.
The 2026 National Championship has 8 men's teams (Bien Phong MB, The Cong Tan Cang, Ho Chi Minh City Police, LPBank Ninh Binh, Hanoi, Da Nang, Sanest Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City) and 8 women's teams (VTV Binh Dien Long An, LPBank Ninh Binh, Information Corps, Vietinbank, Duc Giang Chemicals, Long Son Cement Thanh Hoa, Hung Yen, Hanoi).
