The chosen organization will determine the attractiveness of the tournament and the ability to attract sponsorship.
National championship still finds guaranteed sponsor
The Vietnam Volleyball Federation currently has a sponsor, Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Joint Stock Company, for the National Championship, with a long-term commitment and appropriate sponsorship.
Previously, Duc Giang Chemical Group of businessman Dao Huu Huyen sponsored the tournament in the period of 2022-2024.
One of the viewpoints given by Mr. Dao Huu Huyen when sponsoring the National Championship (at that time) was that the tournament had the highest professional value in the competition system, so the prize level must be commensurate for the team, players and coach to strive for. The annual sponsorship value of this contract package has been shared at 3.5 billion VND. Currently, the champion men's and women's teams of the National Volleyball Championship receive a prize of 500 million VND.
Since the National Championship changed the prize mechanism, raising it to a higher level in 2022, professionals and audiences have seen advertising signs appear frequently at tournament events.
General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation - Mr. Le Tri Truong once expressed: "Finding sponsorship sources for volleyball is not easy. However, we determine that the tournament must have a good image and good quality, so finding accompanying brands will be more promising. This is what the Vietnam Volleyball Federation strives to position for the National Championship.
Which form is suitable?
Starting from 2025, the National Championship will have only 8 men's teams and 8 women's teams. This year's tournament has ended with a format of competition in 2 phases. However, for the first time, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation has used the method of teams competing in a round-robin in the group stage to find teams with high qualifications to the semi-finals, finals and the remaining teams compete for relegation.
Bringing the tournament's professional appeal is what the Vietnam Volleyball Federation aims for. The document (dated November 4, signed by General Secretary Le Tri Truong) was sent to 16 teams to collect opinions on how to organize the 2026 National Championship. However, collecting opinions is to help the manager synthesize and then base on reality to build a professional charter for the 2026 National Championship.
"There will be advantages and disadvantages in any way. However, the most suitable format will be chosen. We always want players to have enough matches in a year and each team to achieve the best professional level. The national volleyball championship took place to serve the audience. Therefore, the audience will have the opportunity to watch the competition to ensure their expertise, Mr. Le Tri Truong once expressed.
According to sports economists, a tournament with an attractive organization method will enhance its image and attract accompanying businesses. In fact, the 2025 National Championship has an exciting first phase, but the second phase lacks highlights. Therefore, for the first time, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation has consulted with 16 teams to choose a more suitable competition format for the 2026 season.
There were opinions that we should learn some volleyball backgrounds in Southeast Asia such as Thailand and Indonesia to build a playing style that is as attractive as your. However, each country has different conditions. The 16 teams in the 2026 National Championship themselves are under different management from each parent unit. The team depends on investment resources. For that reason, the right method of organizing the competition helps each team prepare the best team.
The Vietnam Volleyball Federation will record the opinions of 16 teams from November 4 to 10. Regarding the method of organizing the 2026 National Championship, the Federation offers the following options: "Concentrated competition in 2 stages (as at present); concentrated competition in 3 stages; concentrated competition in 4 stages; other opinions".
