The 3-cushion carom World Women's Championship ended in the early morning of September 26 (Vietnam time) with the final matches held in Spain.
In the semi-finals, Nguyen Thi Lien met the world's top player Therese Klompenhouwer (Netherlands). Nguyen Thi Lien lost the final match with a score of 13-30, after 40 turns.
Losing in the semi-finals, Nguyen Thi Lien was held to 3rd place with a bronze medal. After the semi-final, Therese Klompenhouwer played together and won the championship. This player has just won a gold medal at the 2025 World Games as well as won 5 world championships before this year's tournament.
Nguyen Thi Lien is the only representative of Vietnamese billiards participating in this tournament. The World Billiards Federation (UMB) gave Vietnam 1 spot. Nguyen Thi Lien was chosen because she won the 2025 national championship.
Last year, player Nguyen Hoang Yen Nhi represented Vietnam in this tournament, also winning the bronze medal.
Up to now, Vietnamese billiards has 2 players who have been ranked 3rd in the world in the 3-cushion carom event. The 3-cushion carom event will not take place at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand, so player Nguyen Thi Lien will be absent from this Games. Currently, Nguyen Thi Lien is a player of Ho Chi Minh City Sports.
