The first match of Group A, Round 2 of the 2024 National Women's Football Cup group stage, is the clash between Son La and Phong Phu Ha Nam on the evening of December 1.
After the opening whistle, Phong Phu Ha Nam played impressively. In the 27th minute, Ta Thi Thuy headed the ball to open the score after a cross from Tran Thi Duyen. Just 1 minute later, it was Thanh Hieu's turn to double the gap for Phong Phu Ha Nam.
After two quick goals, Son La rose up to attack and got what they needed. In the 29th minute, Dang Thi Mai's accurate shot narrowed the score to 1-2.
But the lack of solid defense made the mountainous representative pay the price. Hoang Van and Thanh Hieu continued to score to help coach Nguyen Thi Khanh Thu and her team end the first half with a score of 4-1.
