Experts call 2025 the “year of youth football”, when the goal is for the U22 team to win the 33rd SEA Games championship at the end of the year in Thailand. Therefore, people need to see the spirit of youth football. However, in the first days of the year, the disciplinary action against 4 teams and 4 coaches - from warnings to 12-month bans from participating in football activities managed and organized by VFF - is very sad news.
The reason for writing "allowing the team to play below its ability" is understood as another way of expressing "negative", because when it "seriously" affects the results and image of the tournament, the level of violation is certainly not light.
With 4 teams being warned, none of them will qualify for the final round in Ba Ria - Vung Tau in the second half of February. Speaking of this, many people must understand what the story of "not being up to par" means and it has happened in many tournaments around the world. However, the problem is, with Vietnamese football, what is worth talking about, and needs to be talked about more, is what happens at the youth level.
While professional training has not been highly valued for many years, professional ethics training has received even less attention. In the past, many young players got into trouble when “changing their lives” due to lack of knowledge, but recently, there have been cases where young players have been lured, or even actively, into negative activities both on and off the field. And have been suspended, banned, and arrested!
What’s even sadder is that the negative behavior from the players comes from the coaches themselves, the ones who directly lead and have the greatest influence on them. Many people would even think that if it involved even higher-ranking leaders of the team, it wouldn’t be surprising…
So, when VFF makes strong decisions, there is a lot of consensus towards a more progressive football.
