The foreign affairs and international relations activities of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) continue to be implemented effectively and proactively with support from regional and continental federations and FIFA.
Based on the memorandum of cooperation, VFF cooperated with LaLiga to successfully organize a Youth Football Workshop for coaches working in youth training at Vietnamese clubs (January 10-12, 2024), receiving high appreciation from LaLiga experts as well as positive feedback from students.
In 2024, VFF signed an extension of the Cooperation Agreement (until 2027) with the Japan Football Federation (September 18, 2024) with specific goals and clear development strategies, thereby creating favorable conditions for the two Federations to strengthen their relationship and achieve future goals...
Regarding football development cooperation between the two countries, at the club level, representatives of Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan) worked with VFF leaders to discuss future cooperation plans.
On June 13, 2024, Mr. Duong Nhuan Hung - Head of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (China) visited the VFF headquarters and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation with Hong Kong football (China) to jointly promote football development.
Also in 2024, VFF successfully organized the second qualifying round matches of the 2026 World Cup in March and June 2024; the 2024 international futsal friendly tournament; important events hosted by AFF in Vietnam; the 2024 LPBank Cup international friendly tournament; the 2025 U20 Asian qualifiers in Hai Phong; the international friendly match between Vietnam and India in Nam Dinh...
With the achievements of Vietnamese women's football, AFC announced that Vietnam is on the list of 8 National Federations with direct tickets to participate in the 2024 Asian Women's Club Championship from October 6-12. Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club represents Vietnam in the tournament and won the right to enter the quarterfinals.
Also within the framework of activities related to women's football, VFF is one of 5 Asian regional federations selected by UEFA to participate in the UEFA/AFC Project to support the development of women's football for a period of 3 years.
In addition, VFF also sends representatives to attend professional seminars of FIFA and AFC to improve the skills and professional capacity of staff, experts/coaches, contributing to the overall development of football.
With outstanding efforts and achievements in 2023-2024, VFF has continued to affirm its role and position in the region and continent, actively contributing to the development of Vietnamese and international football.
VFF officials have demonstrated good professional capacity when they were trusted by FIFA, AFC, and AFF to manage tournaments and matches in the first 9 months of 2024.
In particular, VFF leaders and officials receive high trust in important positions in the AFC apparatus.
VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan holds the positions of AFC Standing Committee Member, Head of AFC Competition Committee for the 2023-2027 term, Member of AFC Asian Cup Organizing Committee for the 2023-2027 term, Head of AFF Competition Committee for the 2022-2026 term and Member of AFF Finance Committee.
VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu holds the position of Member of the AFC Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee for the 2023-2027 term. VFF Deputy General Secretary Nguyen Thanh Ha holds the position of Member of the AFC Women's Football Committee for the 2023-2027 term and Member of the AFF Women's Football Committee.
