On June 12, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Sports Administration and Vietnam Digital Content and Trading Joint Stock Company (Vietcontent) signed a cooperation agreement to promote the development of the sports economy.
The event marks a step in strengthening coordination between state management agencies and businesses in researching, connecting resources and building support platforms for this field with much development potential.

Vietnamese sports is aiming for comprehensive development, not only in professional achievements but also in the ability to create economic value. However, the exploitation of revenue from copyright, sponsorship, trade, media or sports tourism is still not commensurate with its potential.
Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet - Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration - said: "This is a suitable time to create a suitable roadmap to promote the sports economy. Great expectations, but the Department of Sports needs to develop an initial plan, then ask economic experts and policymakers to advise on approaches to shape the sports economy. Over the past time, Vietnamese sports have been funded by the state. Now, we need to innovate to have a complete picture.

According to the content of cooperation, the two sides will coordinate to implement professional research activities, organize forums and seminars, develop thematic reports and implement communication programs related to sports economy.
At the same time, the connection of businesses with organizations and units operating in the field of sports will also be promoted to expand cooperation opportunities and attract socialized resources.
Not only stopping at annual events, the cooperation program also aims to form a system of data, reference indices and reports with practical value to serve management, policy planning as well as business investment activities.
Through the connection between management agencies, experts and the business community, the sports industry expects to gradually build a more sustainable development foundation, while creating more resources to improve operational quality, improve the working environment and expand development opportunities for athletes and coaches in the future.
