Dinh Anh Hoang (People's Police) competed in the final of the men's singles table tennis event of the X-2026 National Sports Festival on August 16 at Hai Duong Gymnasium (Hai Phong).
Dinh Anh Hoang's opponent is veteran player Doan Ba Tuan Anh (Hai Phong).
This confrontation was enthusiastically cheered by fans because the 2 players are playing at their best form at this year's tournament.
In the first set, Dinh Anh Hoang actively pushed up the tempo, thereby succeeding in powerful snatches to win 11-7.
It seemed that Doan Ba Tuan Anh would make adjustments to regain his effectiveness in the next sets, however, the player from Hai Phong team could not create the most effective balls. In the next 3 sets, Dinh Anh Hoang continued to win 13-11, 11-5, 11-7.
Winning with a score of 4-0 in the final, tennis player Dinh Anh Hoang won the gold medal in the men's singles event.
This is the first time this player of the People's Police table tennis team has won a gold medal in the men's singles event at the National Sports Games.
The competition day also recorded player Tran Mai Ngoc (People's Police) winning against Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh (HCMC) 4-1 in the women's singles final, winning a gold medal.
Thus, the People's Police team won a double gold medal in the singles event at this year's tournament. Table tennis of the X-2026 National Sports Games officially ended.
The competition program of the tournament is considered as the result of the 44th National People's Newspaper Championship 2026.
