In the rankings of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) announced on March 10, Nguyen Thuy Linh dropped to 26th place.
Currently, Thuy Linh is in Switzerland preparing for the 2026 Swiss Open International Badminton Tournament with BWF World Tour Super 300 level.
The No. 1 female badminton player of Vietnam just competed in the All England Open 2026 badminton tournament at the BWF World Tour Super 1,000 level but stopped in the first round. Thuy Linh has not improved her international performance in recent tournaments. In early 2026, she participated in 3 high-level tournaments in India, Indonesia and England respectively.
Thuy Linh has dropped in rank, however, she is still the highest-ranked Vietnamese female tennis player in the BWF rankings.
Nguyen Thuy Linh will meet Yvonne Li (Germany) in the first round of the women's singles event in Switzerland. Her ranking in the BWF will improve if Thuy Linh achieves good results this time. The tournament lasts until March 15. After the tournament, Thuy Linh will move to France to continue competing until March 22.
Currently, Vietnamese badminton has only player Nguyen Thuy Linh competing in Europe. After the program in Europe, she will enter the preparation period to participate in the 2026 Asian Championship held in April in China.
