Up to now, Vietnamese Sports has received 11 slots to participate in the 2026 Youth Olympics in 7 sports.
The sports with slots for the 2026 Youth Olympics in order include athletics (1 slot), taekwondo (1), badminton (1), road cycling (2), beach wrestling (1), swimming (2) and wushu (1).
The 2026 Youth Olympics will take place in 25 sports from October 31st to November 13th. In June, the qualifying rounds of the 2026 Youth Olympics will end. At that time, Vietnam Sports will determine the final number of slots to go to Senegal to compete.
We still have a chance to compete for a spot in the 2026 Youth Olympics in boxing and beach wrestling.
Among the 11 slots that have been awarded to Vietnamese Sports at the present time, the teams receive slots according to specific content. After that, the coaching staff of the national sports teams will select athletes to receive this slot and register with the Organizing Committee of the 2026 Youth Olympics.
The last time the Youth Olympics took place was in 2018 in Argentina. The Vietnamese sports delegation has 13 slots to participate in the Games and we have athletes Ngo Son Dinh (weightlifting), Nguyen Huy Hoang (swimming) who won gold medals.
Vietnamese sports compete in 4 important international sports events including the 2026 Asian Beach Games, ASIAD 20, Youth Olympics 2026 and the 2026 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
