Vietnamese tennis player wins Roland Garros Junior 2025 qualifiers

Le Tien Anh is the first Vietnamese tennis player to win the men's singles championship in the 2025 Roland Garros Junior Tennis Tournament qualifiers.

On August 23, Le Tien Anh won the No. 1 seed Dahiya (India) with a score of 2-0 (7/6, 7/5) in the men's singles final of the 2025 Roland Garros Junior Tennis Tournament qualifiers.

With this result, Le Tien Anh became the first Vietnamese tennis player to win the qualifying round of the Roland Garros Junior Tennis Tournament. Previously, Li Huangyan competed in this tournament in 2014 but did not win the championship.

Le Tien Anh started the Roland Garros Junior 2025 Tennis Tournament for players from East Asia, South Asia and Southeast Asia in Hanoi (China) in Group F with a 2-1 victory over the No. 2 seed Ranvir Singh (India). Then, Tien Anh beat Korean tennis player Bang John Hyun Gyum with a score of 2-1 (5/7, 7/6, 6/2) and won 2-0 Lai Tsz Ho (Hongkong, China)

Le Tien Anh leads Group F, enters the semi-finals to win 2-0 (6/3, 6/1) against Liu Ian (Taiwan (China). The victory helped Le Tien Anh enter the final, then defeated Dahiya.

According to the announcement of the Organizing Committee, Le Tien Anh officially received a special ticket from Asia to participate in the Roland Garros Junior Series from October 13 to October 17 in Japan. The result of the tournament will decide the official place to participate in the Roland Garros Junior Championships in 2026 in France.

Tennis player Ly Hoang Nam participated in the main men's singles round of the Roland Garros Junior Championships in 2015. This year, Le Tien Anh is 14 years old.
