Wimbledon champion receives over $4 million in prize money

The Wimbledon organizing committee has raised the prize money for players, with the men's and women's singles champions receiving more than $4 million/person.

Accordingly, the 2025 Wimbledon Organizing Committee has set aside 53.3 million pounds (more than 72 million USD) as a prize for this year's tournament. This figure increased by 7% compared to last year and doubled compared to a decade ago.

The champion of men's and women's singles will receive 3 million pounds/person (more than 4 million USD). This is the highest prize money among the current Grand Slams. Athletes who win the men's and women's singles runner-up positions will receive more than 1.5 million pounds.

If eliminated in the first official round, players participating in the singles event will receive 66,000 pounds, an increase of 10% compared to last year.

In the doubles event, the prize for the champion pair of men's and women's doubles is 680,000 pounds/pair. In general, the organizing committee increased the prize for doubles at 4.4% compared to last year.

The Wimbledon organizing committee's increase in bonuses for athletes was made after the call of many of the world's top players. In addition to Wimbledon, other Grand Slams have similar moves.

Wimbledon is a Grand Slam on the pitch, taking place in England, and is considered one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world. This year, the matches will take place from June 30 to July 13.

Last year, Carlos Alcaraz ( Spain) won the men's singles championship and Barbora Krejcikova (Czech Republic) was crowned in the women's singles.
