Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh has just signed Decision No. 1897/QD-TTg dated September 4, 2025 promulgating a plan to implement the Law on Participating in United Nations peacekeeping forces.
The purpose of the plan is to specifically determine the content of work, completion progress and responsibilities of relevant agencies and organizations in implementing the law, ensuring timeliness, synchronization, unity, effectiveness and efficiency.
Determine the responsibilities and coordination mechanisms between ministries, departments, branches and People's Committees of provinces and cities in conducting law enforcement activities nationwide and raising awareness and responsibility of Party committees, local authorities at all levels, agencies and organizations in law enforcement.
According to the plan, ministries, departments, branches and provincial People's Committees will widely disseminate and disseminate the content, meaning and importance of the law and detailed regulations for implementation with appropriate content and form for each specific subject to raise awareness, understanding and responsibility of cadres and people, especially those directly performing the United Nations peacekeeping mission.
To specify and guide the implementation of the law, the Ministry of National Defense will preside over the development of 2 Government Decrees:
The Decree details a number of articles of the Law on Participating in United Nations peacekeeping forces.
The Decree stipulates a number of regimes and policies for individuals and to ensure the participation of Vietnamese organizations in United Nations peacekeeping activities.
Develop a circular regulating the organization, staffing, standards, uniforms and training programs for United Nations peacekeeping forces under the management of the Ministry of National Defense.
The Ministry of Public Security shall preside over the development of a circular regulating the organization, staffing, standards, uniforms and training programs for United Nations peacekeeping forces under the management of the Ministry of Public Security.
Ministries, departments, branches and provincial People's Committees issued documents guiding the implementation of the Law on the role of the United Nations peacekeeping force, including regulations on organization, staffing, technical and professional means; selection standards; training programs, training and fostering times for forces under their management.
