The Conference on summarizing the work in 2025 and deploying the work in 2026 of the sports industry was held on the morning of December 26 in Hanoi.
Head of the High Performance Sports Department (Vietnam Department of Physical Training and Sports) - Mr. Hoang Quoc Vinh reported at the Conference, the focus of high-performance sports in 2026 is to continue reviewing the coaching and athletics force to select the most outstanding factors, with the potential to focus on national teams.
To become a high-performance country, Vietnam is looking forward to 5 important events in 2026 including ASIAD 20 in Japan, 2026 Youth Olympics in Senegal, 2026 Asian indoor Sports and Martial Arts Festival, 2026 Asian Beach Sports Festival and 2026 National Sports Festival.
In particular, the goal of achieving high results at ASIAD 20 will be built to complete preparation, training, and investment for key athletes before the competition.
In 2026, the sports industry will wait for the Program for developing key sports to prepare for the Olympics and ASIAD for the 2026-2046 period to be approved.
This is a key program focusing on important sports for Vietnamese sports to develop achievements in the ASIAD and Olympic arenas in each professional cycle.
Previously, on December 25, the leaders of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports worked with the departments (Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports) to evaluate and analyze the results of the 33rd SEA Games competition to have an investment orientation and learn from experience before preparing for the 20th ASIAD.
