Through the presentations presented on March 25 and 26, experts, researchers, and sports managers discussed and proposed solutions to develop Ho Chi Minh City sports strongly, integrate internationally and actively contribute to socio-economic development.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Nam Nhan - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City said that in the context of the country's rapid transformation, sports are increasingly playing an important role in economic and social development, improving the quality of life of the people.

According to him, the workshop focused on current and important issues of Ho Chi Minh City. The opinions and discussions presented at the workshop will contribute to orienting Ho Chi Minh City's sports strategy, in line with the general trend of the whole world, promoting the development of the sports economy, creating many development opportunities for the city...
Meanwhile, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Viet Bao, Ho Chi Minh City University of Sports and Physical Training, said that Resolution 98/2023/QH15 creates opportunities for the development of physical education and sports in Ho Chi Minh City but still faces many challenges in terms of finance, infrastructure and management mechanisms.
The city has implemented 8 key projects to upgrade facilities, promote socialization, develop school sports, train athletes and expand international cooperation. However, many large projects are still behind schedule due to problems with policies and resources.
According to him, to promote the sports economy, Ho Chi Minh City needs to perfect the legal framework, attract investment according to the public-private model, promote digital transformation and apply science and technology in management and training.
At the same time, organizing international sports events and developing sports tourism will help the city enhance its position in the region. With the right strategy and the cooperation of stakeholders, Ho Chi Minh City can become the leading sports center of Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
