Hoang Duc is the player assigned to be interviewed during the afternoon training session on December 11 of the Vietnam team.
In the next round of Group B of the ASEAN Cup 2024, the Vietnamese team will meet Indonesia, considered the strongest opponent in the group. Regarding this opponent, Hoang Duc commented: "As far as I know, they will not have many naturalized players like in the third qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup. Most of the players have played in the national championship.
I also had the opportunity to face them when I played on this field (Viet Tri - PV) at the SEA Games. I think the next match will be good. Indonesia has made a lot of progress. The team will have a strategy to play against Indonesia."
In the 4-1 victory of the Vietnamese team over Laos on December 9, Hoang Duc's performance was not highly appreciated. He himself admitted that he did not play well in the opening match.
"In the first half of the match against Laos, the whole team entered the game a bit hastily and attacked a bit too quickly. From an objective perspective, Laos' pitch was quite bad, so the team had some unfavorable ball receiving situations, leading to mistakes.
I didn't play well. I learned from this morning's experience with the whole team. In the match against Indonesia, I will try my best. The whole team will go out and play with all their might and win. The Vietnamese team will aim for each match with the best results," Hoang Duc shared.
The match between Vietnam and Indonesia will take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 15 at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho).
