The referee asked him to return to the field to receive a second yellow card, but he did not comply. For the match to continue, head coach Mano Polking had to accept a card on behalf of his colleague.

Mr. Luis Viegas's behavior caused a lot of controversy, forcing the Organizing Committee to send a report to VFF for disciplinary consideration. After the meeting, the Disciplinary Board issued an official penalty to ensure the strictness of the tournament.

In this match, Hanoi Police won 3-0 against Becamex HCMC. After the incident, coach Mano Polking affirmed that reacting to the referee was not a "war" of the team.
