The training session took place at Nonthaburi Gymnasium, a familiar location for the Vietnamese futsal team as they have hosted matches of the 2026 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship and SEA Games 33.
According to records, the players maintained a comfortable and excited spirit in the first training session. Because the 2026 national championship season had just ended, the players still maintained the feeling of the ball, physical foundation and rhythm, creating conditions for the coaching staff to quickly deploy professional training plans.
Coach Diego Raul Giustozzi focuses on completing tactical plans, enhancing cohesion in the playing style, and reviewing forces before the opening match against the Russian team on August 1.
The 2026 Thailand Continental Championship friendly tournament has the participation of 5 teams including host Thailand, Russia, Afghanistan, New Zealand and Vietnam. The teams compete in a round-robin format to determine the overall ranking.
This is considered an opportunity for the Vietnamese futsal team to rub shoulders with high-level opponents, thereby assessing the force and completing the squad before international goals in the coming time.
