On the morning of July 30, the Vietnamese futsal team departed for Thailand to participate in the 2026 Thailand Asian Championship Friendly Tournament. Mr. Tran Anh Minh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) was assigned to take on the role of Head of Delegation of the team at the tournament.
Before leaving, coach Diego Raul Giustozzi finalized the list of 16 players to participate in the tournament. Two names who cannot accompany the team are Dinh Cong Vien and Tran Quang Nguyen because they have not recovered from injuries in time.
At the tournament in Thailand, the Vietnamese futsal team will successively face Russia on August 1, New Zealand (August 2), Afghanistan (August 3) and host Thailand (August 5).
The 2026 Thailand Confederation Championship friendly tournament gathers 5 teams, competing in a round-robin format to determine the overall ranking.
This is considered a high-quality professional playground with the participation of many strong opponents. Through the tournament, the coaching staff of the Vietnamese futsal team will have the opportunity to review the force, complete tactical plans, and create conditions for young players to accumulate more international competition experience, towards important goals in the coming time.
